AEC Ecuador was performing
regular road maintenance at an average of 1km per day. The aggregate
utilized for the road is uncrushed washed river rock. AEC Ecuador is not
isolated in the increasing worldwide problem of dwindling non-sustainable
aggregate resources - subsequently escalating the costs associated with it.
With preliminary testing, AEC
Ecuador has reported that with no additional equipment, they can double
current road maintenance production to 2km/day. If an additional packer was
utilized, 4km per day could be realized. This production increase has been
estimated to save up to (USD) $ 36,162 per month. This cost savings is calculated
only on operating costs, and does not include the additional savings for
aggregate costs - as no additional product was required to rehabilitate the
road.
Road Badger expects AEC Ecuador
to see continued operational savings and major reductions in their aggregate
usages as the Road Badger becomes a standard in Road Maintenance practices.
