The Road Badger
with its finite depth control, is able to efficiently fracture and break
up ONLY
the top soil, preventing cross contamination of soils during wellsite, lease
road or pipeline right-a-way construction on rural farm land. Tested in
frost levels of 16 - 18", working depths of 6" at an operational speed of 2 to 5 km/hr
are attained.
Conventional
methods would consist of utilizing the ripper on a dozer, but precise depth
control is unattainable. This can result in cross contamination of the
soils, requiring more materials, equipment and time for proper remediation
after completion. Additionally the large chunks created by the ripper tooth
spacing on dozers can make working with the material difficult later on. If
remediation is required, land owners can be reluctant to the hauling in of
foreign top soils due to potential weed control issues and soil quality
effecting crop yields. The Roadbadger can fracture and granulate the top
soil, allowing for efficient clearing and prevent the mixing of soils prior
to construction, allowing the same soils to be put back in place preventing
these issues.
Utilization of the
Road Badger for these applications can assist managing efficiency with
increasing environmental pressures and policies, as well as strengthen land
owner relationships. If you would like more information about using the Road
Badger in this application, please contact us.
